Talihina baseball team routs Hartford, falls to Smithville

April 6, 2012

The Talihina Golden Tigers will enter this weekend's Atoka Tournament coming off a split of games earlier this week.
Talihina began the week with a 16-1 rout of Hartford, Ark., on Monday, but then lost a 3-2 contest Tuesday on the road against the Smithville Braves.
In Monday's victory, Alan Lockhart got his first win of the season, and got offensive support from Clark Austin who hit his first home run of the season.
Unfortunately for the Golden Tigers, things were not so good against the Braves. Talihina coach Jon Bradberry, whose team played the Durant Lions junior varsity in the opening round of the Atoka Tournament on Thursday, said that his team struggled at the plate and “played bad.”
