TALIHINA — After falling by a run in the Class 2A District Tournament opener on Thursday to the Panama Razorbacks and facing elimination twice, the Talihina Golden Tigers responded — in a big way.
After getting a 16-6 mercy-rule win over the Hogs in the second game on Thursday to force a winner-take-all game Friday afternoon, the Golden Tigers took the rubber game in another mercy-rule victory — this time 14-0. Panama took the opener 6-5.
The Golden Tigers (15-9) will find out Monday who, where and when they will play in next week’s Class 2A Regional Tournament.
The Razorbacks end the season at 10-15.
Editor's note: Look for stories on the Class B Regional Tournaments featuring Leflore and Whitesboro in later editions.
