Talihina Chamber of Commerce receives grant for Fall Festival

The Talihina Chamber
of Commerce has
announced that Talihina’s
Fall Foliage Festival has
been awarded a $3,500
grant from the Oklahoma
Arts Council.
Chamber officials said
the grant money will be
used to provide artists for
the festival to be held Oct.
26 and 27 at the Talihina
Old Gym.
The festival will include
a showcase of arts and
crafts, along with food,
inflatables and live entertainment,
including a street
dance Friday night.
Saturday’s festivities
will include the annual
Talihina car show, held in
tribute this year to John
McLemore who was in
charge of the car show
since its beginnings in
1997.
Also featured on
Saturday will be a dog
show sponsored by the
Talihina Animal Clinic, a
5K run and a Choctaw
Heritage and Culture area.
Entertainment groups
performing at the festival
include the Iron Road
Band, Laura Crank, the
Flash Back Band, the
Talihina Rhythm Cloggers
and the Sister Circle
Dulcimer Group.
The Oklahoma Arts
Council is the official state
agency for the support and
development of the arts in
Oklahoma. The council
was founded in 1965. The
OAC's mission is to lead,
cultivate and support a
thriving arts environment
for all Oklahomans.
