Talihina Chamber of Commerce receives grant for Fall Festival

The Talihina Chamberof Commerce hasannounced that Talihina’sFall Foliage Festival hasbeen awarded a $3,500grant from the OklahomaArts Council.Chamber officials saidthe grant money will beused to provide artists forthe festival to be held Oct.26 and 27 at the TalihinaOld Gym.The festival will includea showcase of arts andcrafts, along with food,inflatables and live entertainment,including a streetdance Friday night.Saturday’s festivitieswill include the annualTalihina car show, held intribute this year to JohnMcLemore who was incharge of the car showsince its beginnings in1997.Also featured onSaturday will be a dogshow sponsored by theTalihina Animal Clinic, a5K run and a ChoctawHeritage and Culture area.Entertainment groupsperforming at the festivalinclude the Iron RoadBand, Laura Crank, theFlash Back Band, theTalihina Rhythm Cloggersand the Sister CircleDulcimer Group.The Oklahoma ArtsCouncil is the official stateagency for the support anddevelopment of the arts inOklahoma. The councilwas founded in 1965.
