Talihina girls lose title contest to Washington at Longhorn Invitational; Golden Tigers take third-place game over Wilson

LONE GROVE — The Talihina Lady Golden Tigers suffered through foul trouble and the loss of injured player Tara Hawkins as they lost 47-33 to the Washington Lady Warriors in the title game of the Longhorn Invitational Tournament Saturday night at the Gary Scott Center.
The Lady Golden Tigers (8-2) won their championship semifinal game 37-34 over the Healdton Lady Bulldogs Friday night.
The Golden Tigers ended the tournament on a high note as they handled the Wilson Eagles 77-66 on Saturday to win third place. Talihina (2-7) lost in the championship semifinals 65-56 to the host Lone Grove Longhorns Friday night.
