Talihina girls make tonight's regional title game; boys stay alive

WARNER — The Talihina Lady Golden Tigers assured themselves of another week of practice Thursday night.
The Lady Golden Tigers defeated the Hulbert Lady Riders 51-48 Thursday night in the Class 2A Regional Tournament to put them into tonight's title game here at 6:30 p.m. against Oktaha. Both tonight's winner and runner-up will advance to next week's Class 2A Area Tournament at the new Wilburton Gym.
The Golden Tigers kept their season going for at least one more day with a 65-46 win over the Sallisaw-Central Tigers Thursday afternoon in an elimination game.
The Golden Tigers played Crowder here Friday night with the winner playing for the consolation championship — and a trip to the area tournament — here at 3 p.m. this afternoon.
