Talihina girls stay alive with win over Rattan at Class 2A Area Tournament; Lady Golden Tigers will play this afternoon in consolation semifinals against Howe

WILBURTON — The basketball season will continue one more day for the Talihina Lady Golden Tigers.
Talihina's girls posted a 46-31 win over the Rattan Lady Rams in the Class 2A Area Tournament Thursday afternoon at the new Wilburton Gym.
The Lady Golden Tigers will play in the consolation semifinals Howe, a 45-30 winner over Sallisaw-Central Thursday night, here at 1:30 p.m. this afternoon. It will be a rematch of this season's LeFlore County Tournament title game, won by Howe 31-27.
Today's winner will then play here at 6:30 p.m. Saturday for the consolation title, and a trip to next week's Class 2A State Tournament against the loser of tonight's area final between Oktaha and Amber-Pocasset. Tonight's winner will earn a berth to state.
