Talihina, Howe track athletes compete last week at Warner

April 27, 2014

WARNER — Several Talihina and Howe track athletes did well at last week's Warner Invitational, which took place April 15.
On the boys' side, the Golden Tigers tied Westville for sixth place with 40 points.
On the girls' side, Talihina was seventh (26 points) with the Howe Lady Lions ninth (22).
The postseason awaits the small school track teams next Saturday. Howe's athletes will be at the Class 2A Regional Meet at Oologah, while Talihina's 2A Regional Meet will take place at Luther.
The Arkoma High School track teams will be at the Class A Regional Meet in Prague.
At all regional meets, the top three finishers, including ties, in each event automatically qualify for the state meet the next weekend. All third- through sixth-place finishers are in line for at-large bids to state as the top four finishers from four regional meets combined, including ties, will earn trips to state.
