Talihina to meet much improved Antlers Bearcats tonight

September 13, 2013

Things could not have started much better than they did for the Talihina Golden Tigers football team Friday night as they blasted the Wilburton Diggers 70-22 at Doc Robinson Stadium in the season opener.
“We were awesome on offense,” Talihina coach Kelly Gravitt said. “We made our blocking assingments. We were physical and got after it. Our defense was sound. They did a great job, and it was a great opener. They didn't look like it was a Week 1 game. They looked sharp. It was a good game for us.”
The Bearcats did something that hadn't been done in a while Friday night, win. The Bearcats went to Valliant and defeated the Bulldogs 13-8.
“That was their first win in over two years,” Gravitt said. “They're fired up in Bearcat Country. Now, they're going to have their 2013 home opener, and they're going to give the Golden Tigers a great game. Everybody gives us their best.”
Now, the two 1-0 teams will hook up at 7:30 tonight in Antlers in the Bearcats' home opener.
