Talihina teams suffer opening-round losses in LG Invitational

LONE GROVE — It was a rough start to the 2013 Lone Grove Invitational for the Talihina High School basketball teams on Thursday at the Gary Scott Center.
The Lady Golden Tigers lost 49-45 to the Marlow Lady Outlaws, while the Golden Tigers fell 60-54 to the Walters Blue Devils.
Both Talihina teams will be in the consolation semifinals today. The Lady Golden Tigers will play the Comanche Lady Indians at 10 a.m. Friday with the winner playing for the consolation championship at 1 p.m. Saturday. The loser will play for seventh place at 10 a.m. Saturday.
As for the Golden Tigers, they will play the Comanche-Washington loser at 2:30 p.m. Friday for the right to get to the consolation title game at 2:30 p.m. Saturday. Another loss will drop Talihina's boys into the seventh-place game at 11:30 a.m. Saturday.
