Talihina welcomes Savanna for District A-6 showdown Friday night

October 29, 2013

The Super Bowl isn't until the first Sunday in February. However, for the Talihina Golden Tigers football team, its super bowl will be Friday night.
The Golden Tigers (8-0, 4-0 in District A-6) will entertain the Savanna Bulldogs (7-1, 4-0) at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Doc Robinson Stadium in a game which will likely decide the district champion.
“It's the big one,” Talihina coach Kelly Gravitt said. “We've actually been working for this for about a year. We didn't play very well down there last year. One of our goals is to be a district champion, and still be playing football at thanksgiving break. We're going to get all over them. We're wanting to give them some payback [for last year's 33-6 loss] when they came to 'The Pit.'”
