Talihina wrestlers in Class 2A District Duels tonight at Vian

January 17, 2012

The Talihina Golden Tigers wrestling team will begin postseason play this afternoon at the Class 2A District Duals in Vian. Action is slated to begin approximately 2 p.m.
Besides the Golden Tigers (0-3 in duals this season heading into Monday night's dual at Sequoyah-Tahlequah, which was rescheduled from next Monday) and the host Wolverines, Sequoyah-Tahlequah, Keys (Park Hill), Quinton and Hulbert will be a part of this season's district duals. The team with the best win-loss record after dualing everybody will earn a trip to next month's Class 2A Dual State Tournament.
Talihina Coach Jon Bradberry believes his wrestlers match up well with the other four teams, and could fare pretty well.
“I think we match up better with all of them because we've wrestled their athletes in previous tournaments,” he said. “We've had some success against them.”
