Talihina wrestlers place at Okmulgee Tournament

December 13, 2011

OKMULGEE — Five Talihina High School wrestlers placed in last week's Okmulgee Tournament.
Jasper Humphreys (106 pounds) and Andrew Young (160) were runners-up.
Derek Lester was fourth at 113 pounds, while Dylan Chancellor (195 pounds) and Jed Martin (heavyweight) were fifth.
“It was a lot better outing,” Talihina Coach Jon Bradberry said. “Against Poteau, I think we were a little intimidated by them. They wrestled really well. In fact, there were two state qualifiers in the heavyweight division in which Jed wrestled. We're working hard, and we got the most out of our wrestlers this past weekend.”
The Golden Tigers will be off until after the Christmas Break when they will participate in the McAlester Tournament Jan. 6-7, 2012.
