Talihina youth injured in accident

July 31, 2013

A Talihina youth was hospitalized after her car left the roadway and struck a tree.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Mariah Frederick, 16, of Talihina, was driving a 2008 Mitsubishi west on Oklahoma Highway 63 when her vehicle left the right side of the road and struck a tree.
Frederick was pinned inside her vehicle until she was freed 30 minutes later by the Whitesboro Fire Department.
Frederick was taken by LeFlore County Emergency Medical Services to the Choctaw Nation Health Care Center then later flown by Eagle Med medical helicopter to Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa. She is listed in stable condition with multiple injuries.
The report shows rain-slick roads were a contributing factor to Frederick's accident.
