The Community State
Bank is expanding with a
new branch location in
Wister.
Construction on the new
branch facility has begun
at 405 Highway 271. This
new facility will have a
single commercial drive
through lane and two other
drive through lanes for
private banking. Also at
the new location will be
an automated teller
machine. Construction on
the new facility is slated
for completion in April of
2012.
The Community State
Bank purchased the First
State Bank of Wister in
June of 1999 and made
improvements to the existing
facility, however, a
fundamental lack of space
had impeded the bank
from providing available
services that exist at The
Community State Bank’s
alternate locations.
The new banking facility
will afford several new
opportunities to both the
bank and its customers in
the Wister community. In
addition, the current Wister
branch of The Community State Bank
facility will be donated to the Wister
Library, currently the smallest public
library in the state of Oklahoma.
Head Librarian Leslie Langley has
expressed that she has many plans for the
newfound extra space being made available
to her at CSB’s former Wister facility.
Once the bank has made the move to
their new location, the library will begin
their occupation of the old facility.
