Team Higgins wins open tournament at Wister Lake

The LeFlore County Bass Club had an open tournament Saturday at Wards Landing on Wister Lake. There were 14 boats filled with anglers who caught 16 fish that weighed a collective 45.05 pounds. Each fish averaged 2.82 pounds, with five limits caught. The limit was three fish per team.
Haskell and A.J. Higgins won the tournament with 12.4 pounds caught, including A.J.'s big bass winner of 5.06 pounds. Team Higgins won $280, while A.J. earned an extra $115 for his big bass winner.
Gary Steelman went solo to win second place as he caught 9.26 pounds and earned $170. Joe and Ry Johnson came in third (7.98 pounds, $115).
