Things didn't end the way desired, but it was still good to see Spiro make state once again

May 20, 2014

The 2014 LeFlore County high school baseball season did not end the way desired, with the Spiro Bulldogs being crowned state champions.
However, the ’Dogs did make state for the third straight season, and for the fourth straight spring season since your's truly has been your sports editor the county has had at least one baseball team make state. That's not too bad, and I'll make a motion that we shoot for five straight in the spring of 2015.
College Signings
Don't forget coaches and parents, if I'm notified of a college signing within at least 24 hours, preferably 48 hours, notice, I can usually make the signing to be there in person to take the photograph and interview signee and coaches for a story. Anytime that I can't be there, if someone can take the photograph, properly identify the people in the photograph and send it to sports@poteaudailynews.com, I'll publish it ASAP.
