Thunder eliminates Lakers, gets ready for San Antonio

May 23, 2012

OKLAHOMA CITY — The Oklahoma City Thunder closed out the Western Conference semi-finals with the Los Angeles Lakers by pushing the Lakers past their breaking point and dominating the game late to win 106-90.
Kobe Bryant scored 42 points, but the Thunder shut down the rest of the team and were content to let him score. Bryant had no assists in the game, and it was apparent early on the he was looking to score at every opportunity.
Russell Westbrook took over in the third to put the Thunder up, and Kevin Durant hit two 3-point baskets early in the fourth to seal the deal.
The San Antonio Spurs are next. Game 1 of the Western Conference finals will be at 7 p.m. Sunday in San Antonio, Texas.
