Thunder use back-to-back nailbiters to take 2-0 series lead over Mavericks

May 1, 2012

OKLAHOMA CITY — After getting a last-second shot by Kevin Durant to win their opening game of the 2012 NBA Playoffs Saturday night, the Oklahoma City Thunder had to hold on once again Monday night against the defending NBA Champion Dallas Mavericks.
James Harden hit four free throws in the final 26 seconds, and the Thunder had to survive two 3-point attempts by Jason Terry in the final seconds to hold on for a 102-99 victory at Chesapeake Energy Arena.
Despite two close games, the Thunder do have a 2-0 lead in the series, and can really put the pressure on the Mavericks if they can win Game 3 Thursday night at American Airlines Center in Dallas in what will be a must-win contest for the defending champs.
Durant had another miserable shooting performance in game two (5-of-17) after his 10-of-27 performance in the first game. He will have to start shooting better for the Thunder to have a chance on the road in the next two games at Dallas.
