December 3, 2011

I HEAR THE (POCOLA) TRAIN COMING — Pocola's Grant Severe, left, appears to be picking up steam as he drives toward the basket against Panama's Coby Johnson (No. 5) and Jason Lovell (No. 15) as Panama's Anthony Milburn (No. 3) trails the play during Thursday night's game at the Panama Gym. PANAMA — The Pocola Indians lost their high school football game to the archrival Panama Razorbacks this past season. So, they got a little revenge for that Thursday night as they handled the Razorbacks 75-50 at the Panama Gym.
Spiro 65, Heavener 45: In Spiro, the Bulldogs (1-0) led 17-15 after one period and 28-25 at halftime, but they took control in the third quarter with a 20-7 period to take a 48-32 advantage into the final period.
Leflore 84, McCurtain 65: In McCurtain, the win improved the Savages to 6-1 on the season.
Wister 41, Smithville 39: In Smithville, the Wildcats (4-3) used Dalton Brown's desperation, half-court 3-point basket at the buzzer to cap off the come-from-behind victory.
Keota 85, Bokoshe 17: In Bokoshe, the good news for the Tigers (0-4) is they scored points in the first quarter, but the bad news was they trailed 42-7 after the first eight minutes.
Webbers Falls 56, Arkoma 46: In Webbers Falls, the Mustangs (0-2) were unable to avenge the Warriors for their lone regular-season football defeat of this past season.
