WHITESBORO â€” A strong third quarter broke open a close game as the Red Oak Eagles handed the Whitesboro Bulldogs their first loss of the season with a 59-48 victory Thursday night at Steve Linker Gymnasium.
With the game tied at 11 with 7:21 left before halftime, the Eagles went on a 7-0 run to take an 18-11 lead with 5:03 left in the first half en route to a 23-20 halftime lead.
Red Oak pulled away from Whitesboro in the third quarter, outscoring them 21-11 in the period to take a 44-31 lead into the final quarter.
Leflore 84, McCurtain 48: In McCurtain, the Savages remained undefeated on the season.
Leading 19-11 after a period, the Savages outscored the Bulldogs 22-10 in the second period to take a 41-21 lead at halftime.
