SPIRO — The Spiro Lady Bulldogs began their 2011-12 season in fine fashion with a 52-37 victory over the Heavener Lady Wolves Thursday night at the Spiro Gym.
Pocola 48, Panama 46: In Panama, the Lady Indians (1-1) got their first win of the season as well as for new Coach Carrie Covey, but they had to do it the hard way.
Bokoshe 36, Keota 34: In Bokoshe, the Lady Lions jumped out to a 15-4 lead after one period, but the Lady Tigers (4-0) outscored them 20-2 in the second quarter to take a 24-17 halftime lead.
Arkoma 50, Webbers Falls 42: In Webbers Falls, the Lady Mustangs (1-1) got their first win of the season, but had to rally to get the win.
Wister 49, Smithville 35: In Smithville, the Lady Wildcats (4-3) led 15-9 after one period and never lost the lead.
McCurtain 52, Leflore 49: In McCurtain, the Lady Savages (0-7) came their closest in getting their first win of the season.
