Thursday's High School Softball Roundup

August 23, 2013

SPIRO — The outstanding week of pitching for Poteau's senior ace RaeLynn Caldwell continues.
Caldwell, who struck out 14 Westville batters on Monday and 11 Tahlequah batters on Tuesday in a game where she was perfect for 6.1 innings, threw a no-hitter Thursday afternoon as the Lady Pirates blanked the Spiro Lady Bulldogs 8-0.
Caldwell struck out 11 batters in Thursday's win, and missed by one batter of a perfect game.
Whitesboro 14, Bokoshe 0: In Whitesboro, the Lady Bulldogs got their first win of the season, and spoiled the debut of new Bokoshe coach John Speir as the Lady Tigers opened their season donning new uniforms.
Pocola 1, Talihina 0: In Pocola, the Lady Indians broke a scoreless deadlock with the game's lone run in the fifth inning.
Arkoma 3, Eufaula 0; Quinton 5, Arkoma 2: At Robbers Cave Shootout in Wilburton, the Lady Mustangs split their first two games in the tournament, and will play an elimination game at 9 this morning. They will have to win six straight games today to win the tournament.
