Time to Brave the Mud

August 22, 2014

The second annual Brave the Mud Run is set for 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 23 at the LeFlore County Fairgrounds.
“Last year’s mud run reached well beyond our expectations. We raised over $12,000 for the shelter because of the overwhelming response we received,” said Glenda Wise, race director. All profits will go directly to the Leflore County Women’s Crisis Services.
Participants will slosh through muddy pits and complete challenging yet fun obstacles along the adventurous 5K. The race will start and end at the Leflore County Fairgrounds and go along the Frisco Trail. A few of the obstacles that mudders will encounter are The Barn Burner, a rope wall, and belly crawl through the mud pits. “The race course will change a bit and we’ve added a few obstacles, just to mix it up and keep it challenging for the veteran, brave mudders,” Wise said.
Fees are $60 for individual and $55 each for teams of four or more. You can also watch the Brave the Mud Run Facebook page for special promotional codes. Participants can drop off a registration form at Don Wise Construction/Connie Wise Real Estate or go online at www.bravethemudrun2014@eventbrite.com. You can also contact Wise at (918) 839-4785 or glendawise@windstream.net for more information.
