Title game rematch on boys side Saturday night; Spiro Bulldogs, Poteau Pirates win semifinal games Thursday night; girls championship game Saturday night as well

TALIHINA — It will be a rematch of last season’s title tonight at the Spiro High School gym when the 81st LeFlore County Tournament comes to a close.
The Spiro Bulldogs, last season’s county champions, handled the Heavener Wolves 62-48 in one championship semifinal on Chris Gillespie Court at Ray Henson Gymnasium.
Last year’s runners-up, the Poteau Pirates, got past the Talihina Golden Tigers 40-38 in the other semifinal.
The Bulldogs and the Pirates will meet at 8 p.m. Saturday in Spiro for the title.
The Wolves and the Golden Tigers will play at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in Spiro for third place.
The girls championship game will be at 6:30 p.m. Saturday in Spiro. The girls semifinals were slated here for Friday night, with Poteau meeting Panama and Howe playing Talihina. While the winners will battle it out for the county title, the losers will play for third place at 1 p.m. Saturday in Spiro.
