The top four seeds in the 2012 LeFlore County Slow-Pitch Softball Tournament all reached the winner's-bracket semifinals with wins on Monday night at the Poteau Area Recreational Complex — but it wasn't easy.
Poteau had to use a 13-run sixth inning to finally put away the pesky Spiro Lady Bulldogs 17-4.
The Heavener Lady Wolves needed runs in their last at-bat to down the Talihina Lady Golden Tigers 9-7.
The Pocola Lady Indians edged the Wister Lady Wildcats 4-3, and the Panama Lady Razorbacks doubled up the Whitesboro Lady Bulldogs 10-5.
All four teams who lost in the winners'-bracket quarterfinals all won their opening-round games in Monday's first session.
Spiro blanked Howe 12-0, Whitesboro got past Leflore 12-3, Wister run ruled Arkoma 14-2 and Talihina did likewise to Cameron 12-4.
Winner's-bracket semifinals and the first two rounds of consolation play were on the slate for Tuesday.
There will be three games slated for today. The loser's-bracket quarterfinals will be at 5 p.m., with the winners playing in the consolation semifinals at 6:15 p.m.
Tuesday night's winners'-bracket semfinal winners will play in the winner's-bracket finals at 5 p.m. Thursday.
