Top-ranked Poteau soccer boys blank McAlester; homecoming games Friday vs. Stilwell

April 11, 2013

SAVANNA — Class 4A’s top-ranked soccer team, the Poteau Pirates, continued its winning — and dominating — ways with a 10-0 mercy-rule victory over the McAlester Buffaloes.
While the girls contest was only a junior varsity one for the Lady Pirates, it was a very successful one for the local ladies as they won 5-0.
The Poteau soccer teams will celebrate homecoming Friday against Stilwell at Costner Stadium. Homecoming ceremonies will begin at approximately 4:15 p.m. The girls game will begin at 5 p.m., followed by the boys contest at 7 p.m.
