Tuesday’s High School Baseball Roundup

March 28, 2013

TALIHINA — Despite a big inning, the Talihina Golden Tigers still had to hold off the Heavener Wolves for a 15-10 victory Tuesday afternoon.
Trailing 2-0, the Golden Tigers scored 10 runs in the second inning and two runs in the third inning for a 12-2 lead after three innings.
However, the Wolves would not go down without a fight. Heavener scored three runs in the fourth inning and five runs in the sixth inning to cut the deficit to 12-10, but the Golden Tigers scored three runs in their half of the sixth inning to preserve the win.
Leflore 9, Pocola 5: In Leflore, the Savages rallied from a 5-4 deficit with a two-run fifth inning and a three-run sixth inning to get the win.
Panama 5, Gans 4, 8 inn.: In Panama, Dakota Fout’s two-out, RBI single in the eighth inning broke a 4-all tie.
Editor’s note — Wister’s game with Hartford, Ark., did not take place due to Hartford not having enough players. The Wildcats will be in a three-game festival with Leflore at Whitesboro beginning at 4 this afternoon. Wister will play Whitesboro first, then Leflore — which will play Whitesboro in the final game.
