February 7, 2013

WISTER — Friday night, the Wister Wildcats had to go overtime to nip the Howe Lions by a point. The ’Cats did not need overtime Tuesday night, but still had another nailbiting win as they downed the Cameron Yellowjackets 57-53.
The Wildcats jumped to a 19-8 lead after a period en route to a 30-21 halftime advantage.
In the second half, the ’Jackets outscored the ’Cats 32-27, but the first-quarter deficit was too much to overcome.
Howe 54, McCurtain 46: In Howe, the Lions led 12-11 after a period, but built their advantage to 24-15 at halftime.
The Bulldogs outscored the Lions 31-30 in the second half, but it wasn’t enough to keep the Lions from winning the regular-season title in the Green Valley Conference.
Panama 60, Arkoma 41: In Arkoma, leading 27-23 at halftime, the Razorbacks outscored the Mustangs 23-5 in the third quarter to take a 50-28 lead into the final period.
Talihina 72, Heavener 64: In Talihina, trailing 30-27 at halftime, the Golden Tigers outscored the Wolves 25-14 in the third quarter, thanks to a 14-2 run, to take a 52-44 lead into the final period.
Pocola 53, Stigler 43: In Stigler, the Indians trailed 2-0, but lead the rest of the way — building an 18-9 lead after the opening period thanks to a pair of 3-point basket by Lance Standridge. Pocola, without three players, led 25-21 at halftime and 41-29 going into the final period.
Keota 80, Bokoshe 23: In Keota, the Tigers trailed just single digits after the first quarter, down only eight points at 13-5. However, the Lions continued to add to their lead as the game progressed.
