HEAVENER — In a battle of the last two LeFlore County Tournament champions, the Heavener Lady Wolves [last spring’s champs] nipped the Poteau Lady Pirates [last fall’s champs] by a score of 1-0 Tuesday afternoon. It was also a rematch of last fall’s county title game.
The game’s only run scored on Sydney Crase’s two-out, RBI single in the opening inning, scoring Jacee Manley.
Arkoma 10, Whitesboro 4; Keota 2, Arkoma 1; Keota 4, Whitesboro 0: In Arkoma, the Lady Lions beat both county opponents, while the Lady Mustangs split their games.
In Arkoma’s win over Whitesboro, the Lady Mustangs trailed 1-0 after an inning, but scored twice in their half of the frame to take the lead for good at 2-1.
In Arkoma’s loss to Keota, the Lady Lions scored single runs in the fourth and fifth innings to get the win.
In Whitesboro’s loss to Keota, the Lady Lions one-hit the Lady Bulldogs, only allowing a single to McKosky, who was 1-for-2.
The Lady Lions scored single runs in the first and third innings, then scored twice in the fourth inning.
Panama 10, Cameron 0; Panama 14, Wilburton 6; Wilburton 11, Cameron 3: In Panama, the Lady Razorbacks (6-2) dominated their home three-way Tuesday, while the Lady Yellowjackets went winless on the day.
In Panama’s win over Cameron, the Lady ’Backs broke a scoreless tie with a seven-run third inning and a three-run fourth inning.
In Panama’s win over Wilburton, the Lady Razorbacks scored once in the opening inning and four runs in the second inning for a 5-0 lead.
In Cameron’s loss to Wilburton, the Lady ’Jackets were two-hit for the second time on the day. Amber Bailey and Keely Hambrick got hits for Cameron.
Leflore 7, Wright City 6: In Buffalo Valley, Kaylee Roath’s RBI single scored Shaelyn Green in the seventh inning to break a 6-all tie.
Green then made an over-the-shoulder catch of a looping line drive for the final out to preserve the win.
Spiro 7, Muldrow 2: In Muldrow, LeFlore County’s Lady Bulldogs beat Sequoyah County’s Lady Bulldogs as Spiro pitcher Hannah Gilliam scattered seven hits to get her second straight win in as many outings this week.
Talihina 7, Hartsthorne 5: In Hartshorne, the Lady Golden Tigers got their first win of the season.
Talihina scored a run in the opening inning, but fell behind 5-1 after five innings. A four-run sixth inning tied the game, then got the come-from-behind win with a two-run seventh inning.
Red Oak 5, Wister 1: In Wister, the Lady Eagles handed the Lady Wildcats their first loss of the season.
The Lady Eagles had a 2-1 lead by the fourth inning, but Wister defensive miscues helped Red Oak pull away late.
