In a doubleheader featuring two slow-pitch heavyweights, the visiting Tahlequah Lady Tigers posted a doubleheader sweep of the Poteau Lady Pirates on Tuesday, winning 9-7 and 8-5.
Pocola 17, Heavener 13: In Heavener, down to their final three outs, the Lady Indians scored seven runs in the seventh inning to rally for the win.
Howe 14, Whitesboro 6: In Howe, the Lady Lions broke a 3-all tie with a three-run second inning and a four-run third inning for a 10-3 lead after three innings.
Cameron 10, Talihina 2; Quinton 17, Cameron 1; Quinton 10, Talihina 0: In Cameron, the Lady Yellowjackets, despite being without four players, still had big innings in their win over the Lady Golden Tigers.
Down 2-0 in the first inning, Cameron scored twice in the first, three runs in the third and fourth innings and twice in the fifth inning to end the game by run rule, leading by eight runs by the fifth inning to stop the game automatically.
In Cameron’s loss to Quinton, the Lady Savages erupted for 13 runs in the first inning to put the game away.
There was no more information reported on Talihina’s game in which it was shut out by Quinton by press time.
Panama 10, Gore 0: In Panama, the Lady Razorbacks won for the second time in as many days, thanks to a six-run first inning.
Wister 5, Hartshorne 4; Wister 8, Wilburton 0: In Wilburton, the Lady Wildcats got a pair of wins to begin the second half of the season.
