Tuesday's High School Baseball Roundup

March 15, 2012

PANOLA — The Panama Razorbacks got a road win Tuesday afternoon with a 7-2 win over the Panola Bearcats.
The Razorbacks jumped out to a 3-0 lead after an inning and never lost the advantage.
Talihina 8, Smithville 1: In Smithville, down 1-0, the Golden Tigers scored twice in the fifth inning on Trevor Crone's first home run of the season and Austin Lawson's RBI double for a 2-1 lead.
Then, Talihina used Lawson's first home run of the season, a grand-slam homer, to highlight a six-run sixth inning for an 8-1 lead for Talihina, whose game Friday at home with Valliant has been moved to noon.
Stigler 10, Cameron 2: In Cameron, the Panthers jumped out to a 3-0 lead after an inning and never relinquished the advantage.
Keota 18, Arkoma 6: In Keota, the Mustangs took a 6-5 lead in the second inning on a two-RBI single by Nathan Gragg, an RBI double by Christian Davis and RBI groundouts by Andrew Bell and Jerry Anderson.
But the Lions roared back with five runs in the second inning and eight runs in the third inning.
Arkoma's game today with Bokoshe has been canceled since the Tigers have not gotten into baseball mode yet.
Sallisaw-Central 7, Pocola 1: In Sallisaw, the Indians got only two hits in the game, both by Grant Severe.
Stilwell 6, Spiro 1: In Stilwell, the Bulldogs suffered their first loss of the season, and scored their only run on a passed ball which allowed Frank Solomon to score in the third inning.
Red Oak 14, Whitesboro 0: In Whitesboro, leading 1-0, the Eagles exploded with 12 runs in the fourth inning to put the game away.
The Bulldogs will play in a three-way at Rock Creek High School today in Bokchito, east of Durant. Whitesboro will meet the host Mustangs at 2 p.m., then face the Bennington Bears at 4 p.m.
Editor's Note — The Bokoshe-Heavener game did not take place, and Howe's games at Hartford, Ark., were only junior high contests. Also, nothing was reported on Leflore's game at Indianola or the possible Monday game the Savages had with Battiest by press time.
