Tuesday's High School Baseball Roundup

April 11, 2013

SALLISAW — The Poteau Pirates got closer to the 20-win plateau as they picked up an 11-4 road win over the Sallisaw Black Diamonds on Tuesday.
Wister 4, Talihina 2, 8 inn.: Tuesday in Talihina, Tyler Gibson's two-run home run in the sixth inning tied the game at 2, then back-to-back RBI singles by Austin Vanhook and Corey Bullard in the eighth inning capped the comeback for the Wildcats.
Whitesboro 15, Clayton 7, 6 inn.: Tuesday in Whitesboro, this became a battle of Bulldogs because Whitesboro's original opponent, Eagletown, does not have enough players for a team.
Trailing 5-1 in the second inning, Whitesboro scored five runs to take a 6-5 lead, which the local Bulldogs did not relinquish.
Editor's note: Due to a family emergency, Heavener's game at Cameron did not take place, and it has not been rescheduled. Also, nothing was reported on Panama's home game against Vian or Leflore's road game against Hartshorne by press time.
