HEAVENER — After getting strong pitching in their season-opening win on Monday from the combination of Parker Johnson and Grant Severe, along came Connor Mangham for the Pocola Indians.Mangham thew a no-hitter, and missed out on a perfect game by a batter, as the Indians blanked the Heavener Wolves 6-0 Tuesday afternoon.Mangham struck out 17 batters, and only allowed one batter to reach by a base on balls. That baserunner was later caught stealing on a strikeout-throwout double play, so that the Indian starter only faced the minimum 21 batters for the game.Spiro 20, Roland 6: In Spiro, the Bulldogs rallied from a 5-1 deficit with a six-run second inning, highlighted by Colton Gamble's two-run home run, his first homer this season.Then, the ’Dogs erupted for a 13-run third inning, with 11 of the runs coming after two outs. The two big hits of the inning were Colby Demato's first homer of the season, a two-run shot, and a three-RBI double by Tyler Didway.Spiro has turned Saturday's one-game home outing with Keys (Park Hill) into a three-way as Fort Smith (Ark.) Northside will join in.
