WHITESBORO — It was a successful 2-for-2 in the Whitesboro Bulldogs baseball team's home openers Tuesday afternoon, picking up a 7-3 win over the Panola Bearcats and an 11-4 victory over the Eagletown Eagles.
Spiro 3, Fort Gibson 1: In Fort Gibson, the Bulldogs trailed 1-0 after an inning, but got an RBI single by Colton Gamble and took advantage of three Fort Gibson errors in the sixth inning to rally for the win.
Kinta 10, Arkoma 0: In Kinta, the Eagles scored five runs in the opening inning to take control.
The Mustangs could muster only a second-inning single by Nathan Willis off Kinta pitching.
Hartshorne 10, Cameron 0: In Hartshorne, the Miners put the Yellowjackets away early, scoring twice in the opening inning, six runs in the second inning and twice in the third for a 10-0 lead.
Smithville 9, Heavener 1: In Smithville, the Braves jumped out to a 6-0 lead after an inning.
Hackett, Ark., 13, Panama 4: In Hackett, the Razorbacks led 5-4 in the sixth inning, but the hosts scored nine runs in the sixth inning to get the win.
Castleberry, Texas, 9, Talihina 5: In Wilburton, the visitors from south of the Red River scored four runs in the opening inning and once in the second inning to take a 5-0 lead.
The Golden Tigers cut the deficit to 5-3 on Trevor Crone's bases-loaded triple in the second inning, but that was as close as they got.
Editor's Note — Pocola's game at Mansfield, Ark., was canceled due to Mansfield having to make up a previously rained out conference game. No make-up date has been set. Also, the Indians had to cancel out their games today with Sallisaw-Central and Leflore in Leflore.
