POCOLA — The Talihina Golden Tigers beat the Pocola Indians 59-46 Friday night in the semifinals of the Choctaw Nation Tournament. Tuesday night when the two teams had their rematch, it was all Pocola.
The Indians used a strong second period to down the Golden Tigers 62-47.
Leading 16-12 after a period, the Indians outscored the Golden Tigers 20-4 in the second quarter to take a 36-16 halftime lead.
Spiro 64, Idabel 55: In Spiro, the Bulldogs jumped out to a 24-11 lead after one period en route to a 36-27 halftime advantage.
The Warriors made a furious comeback in the third quarter as they outscored the ’Dogs 18-4 to take a 45-40 lead into the final period.
In the fourth quarter, Spiro outscored Idabel 24-11 to snatch the win.
Whitesboro 64, Panola 39: In Panola, the Bulldogs got their 10th win of the season, but it took a fourth-quarter run to put some distance between them and the Bearcats. Leading 44-33 after three periods, Whitesboro outscored Panola 20-6 in the final quarter to put the game away.
