PANAMA â€” The Arkoma Mustangs and the Panama Razorbacks went overtime Saturday afternoon in the Green Valley Conference Tournament consolation finals, with Arkoma prevailing.
While Tuesday night's game at the Panama Gym was just as nailbiting, the Hogs avenged Saturday's loss with a 70-66 victory.
Down 59-56 with 3:40 left to play, the Razorbacks outscored the Mustangs 14-7 the rest of the way. Panama's Coby Johnson hit a pair of free throws with 24 seconds left to give his team a 67-66 lead the Hogs would not lose. At the 19-second mark, Ben Whiteaker hit two free throws to increase Panama's lead to 69-66.
The Mustangs had a shot to tie the game, but Demetric Johnson's 3-point attempt missed the mark. Panama's Jason Lovell iced the game with a free throw with three seconds left.
Heavener 68, Hartshorne 49: In Heavener, the Wolves jumped out to an 11-9 lead after a period and never relinquished their advantage.
Pocola 69, Wilburton 61, OT: In Pocola, the Diggers used a 17-13 fourth quarter to force overtime tied at 59-all.
However, it was all Indians in the extra session as they outscored the Diggers 10-2 to get the win.
Talihina 44, Antlers 39: In Talihina, the Golden Tigers rallied from a 20-3 second-quarter deficit to get the victory.
Whitesboro 59, Clayton 43: In Clayton, the Bulldogs jumped out to a 13-7 lead after the opening period and never trailed.
Keota 83, Bokoshe 15: In Bokoshe, the good news for the Tigers finally got to play a game for the first time this month since they had all their players available.
The unfortunate thing for them was that the Lions roared on Tuesday night, jumping out to a 36-7 lead after a period.
