Tuesday's High School Boys Basketball Roundup

POCOLA — The Pocola Indians had not played since Dec. 20 at Hartshorne, and it may have shown in the first half of Tuesday night's game with the Heavener Wolves at the Pocola High School Gym. However, thanks to a strong second half, the Indians were able to prevail 58-56 in overtime.
The Indians trailed 30-18 at halftime, but outscored the Wolves in the second half 32-20 to tie the game at 50-all to force overtime.
In the extra four-minute period, the Indians outscored the Wolves 8-6 to cap the comeback.
Wister 55, Arkoma 44: In Wister, on Jan. 3, the Mustangs stunned the Wildcats in Arkoma. Tuesday night at the Wister High School gym, the ’Cats avenged that loss.
Trailing 21-19 at halftime, the Wildcats outscored the Mustangs 21-15 in the third quarter and 15-8 in the final period to get the come-from-behind victory.
Howe 61, Panama 23: In Howe, the Lions, who led 10-7 after one quarter, clawed the Razorbacks the rest of the way, outscoring them 51-16.
Spiro 67, Sallisaw 57: In Sallisaw, the Bulldogs led 13-10 after a period, but then outscored the Black Diamonds 25-8 in the second quarter to take control of the game.
Talihina 66, Hartshorne 51: In Hartshorne, down 16-13 after a period due to a 3-point basket by the Miners, the Golden Tigers outscored them 18-13 in the second quarter to take a 31-29 lead at halftime. Talihina never trailed again.
Kinta 57, Whitesboro 47: In Whitesboro, the Eagles battled to a 10-9 lead after one period, and took a 23-13 edge at halftime.
The Bulldogs got to within five points, 47-42, in the fourth quarter, but never grabbed the lead.
Keota 79, Cameron 65: In Keota, the Yellowjackets fell behind the Lions 15-4 after a period and never got over the hump.
