WHITESBORO â€” The Whitesboro Bulldogs used a strong fourth quarter to enable them to open the season with a 57-40 win over the Smithville Braves on Tuesday night.
Only leading by four points at 35-31 entering the final period, the Bulldogs outscored the Braves by 13 points â€” 22-9 â€” in the fourth quarter to win going away.
Leflore 85, Panola 25: In Panola, the Savages had little problems with the hosts, jumping out to a 22-5 lead after a period.
McCurtain 47, Wister 40: In Wister, the Bulldogs broke a 6-all tie after one period by outscoring the Wildcats 20-8 in the second quarter to take a 26-14 halftime lead.
The â€™Cats outscored the â€™Dogs 26-21 in the second half, but the rally fell short.
