WISTER â€” Despite leading for most of the way, the Wister Wildcats had to hang on for dear life to down the Howe Lions 41-40 Tuesday night at the Wister Gym.
Spiro 52, Heavener 40: In Heavener, the Bulldogs had a tough game on the heels of their championship game win in the LeFlore County Tournament. The Wolves had a 7-6 lead after one period, but Spiro's 20-14 second period gave the â€™Dogs a 26-21 lead at halftime. After Heavener cut the deficit to 37-33 after three periods, Spiro used a 15-7 final quarter to seal the deal.
Talihina 49, Hartshorne 29: In Talihina, the Golden Tigers jumped out to an 11-2 lead after one period and never looked back. Talihina will play its homecoming game at 6:30 p.m. Friday against Stigler after the 6 p.m. homecoming festivities and 4:30 p.m. junior varsity game.
Cameron 64, Keota 54: In Keota, the Yellowjackets trailed 18-11 after one period, but they outscored the Lions by eight points, 22-14, in the second quarter to take a 33-32 halftime lead. Then, Cameron outscored Keota 31-22 in the second half to win going away.
Panola 59, Whitesboro 54: In Panola, after leading most of the way, a foul-plagued fourth quarter doomed the Bulldogs against the Bearcats. Down 42-38 after three periods, Panola outscored Whitesboro 21-12 in the final quarter to get the come-from-behind win.
