HOWE â€” The Howe Lady Lions may have made an early statement for next week's LeFlore County Tournament, saying don't count the defending champions out just yet.
The Lady Lions, who are seeded seventh in next week's tournament, posted a 42-38 win over the Panama Lady Razorbacks Tuesday night at the Howe High School gym.
The Lady Lions led 10-9 after a period, 22-14 at halftime and 26-24 after three quarters.
Wister 59, Arkoma 56: In Wister, in their first game back from the Christmas break, the Lady Wildcats struggled shooting in a 62-44 loss to the Lady Mustangs on Jan. 3 in Arkoma. Things went differently for the Lady â€™Cats on Tuesday night.
Trailing 21-13 after a period, the Lady Wildcats outscored the Lady Mustangs 20-2 in the second quarter to take a 33-23 halftime lead.

Pocola 62, Heavener 49: In Pocola, the Lady Indians, who had not played since a Dec. 20 road game against Hartshorne, jumped out to a 14-2 edge after a period and never lost the lead.
Talihina 42, Hartshorne 24: In Hartshorne, the Lady Golden Tigers, who were tied at 9-9 with the Lady Miners after a period, put the game away with strong middle quarters. Talihina outscored Hartshorne 15-9 in the second period and 12-0 in the third quarter to take a 36-18 lead into the fourth period.
Kinta 34, Whitesboro 32: In Whitesboro, the Lady Eagles, who trailed 7-5 after a quarter and 16-15 at halftime, outscored the Lady Bulldogs 19-16 in the second half to get the comeback victory.
Keota 74, Cameron 39: In Keota, the Lady Lions jumped out to a 20-6 lead after one quarter to take control of the game.
