December 15, 2011

BOKOSHE — Arkoma Girls Basketball Coach Connie Ray was a little shocked by her team's 11th-seed drawing for the 2012 LeFlore County Tournament. While being maybe a little awestruck in Monday night's loss to the Howe Lady Lions, the tournament's top seed, the Lady Mustangs rebounded by defeated the Bokoshe Lady Tigers, the fourth-seed in the upcoming LeFlore County Tournament, by a score of 69-48 Tuesday night at Bokoshe Tigers Fieldhouse.
Talihina 54, Heavener 45: In Heavener, the Lady Golden Tigers (5-0) jumped out to a 10-7 lead after one period, but the Lady Wolves (1-4) rallied to take a 25-20 lead midway through the second quarter.
But Talihina used a buzzer-beating 3-point basket to cap a 9-3 run to take a 29-28 lead at halftime.
Foul trouble plagued Heavener, and Talihina took advantage of it. The Lady Golden Tigers shot 28 free throws, compared to 13 for the Lady Wolves.
Gans 49, Cameron 23: In Cameron, the Lady Grizzlies jumped out to a 16-6 lead after one period on the Lady Yellowjackets (1-8).
