Turkey season is finally here

This weekend is the start of the youth turkey season in the southeast region. Area youth can go after a bird on Saturday and Sunday before the regular season starts on Monday.
Kids younger than 18 can hunt, but must be accompanied by an adult older than 18. For all regulations concerning youth turkey season, go to www.odwc.state.ok.us.
I plan on taking my boys and chase some birds around this weekend. Hopefully, we will get a chance to call in a gobbler, and they will get their first bird.
If you get a chance, take a kid out hunting or fishing, it is a great way to introduce them to something they can enjoy for years. You will also build memories that last a lifetime.
Have a great week!
