Turkeys, fishing and baseball — it means spring is here

April 5, 2012

Turkey season is just around the corner, and I plan on going out to locate some turkeys this weekend for my boys to chase around during the southeast region’s youth season coming up April 21-22. Koby is always ready to go hunting, and Cash told me that he just wants to kill a turkey. So, that makes me even more excited about the upcoming season.

Chuck Restine runs the OK River Rat Bass Tournament trail, and has had several tournaments already this year — including the last one at Kerr Lake which was won by Motor McKinney and Cody Myers, who hauled in 16.91 pounds of bass — which included the big bass winner that weighed 6.14 pounds.
The duo of Mark Goines and Mike Hesson tied for first with 16.91 pounds, but their big bass weighed only 6.05 pounds — which was .09 pounds smaller than what McKinney and Myers caught, which broke the tie to give them first place.
Darren Mize and Edwin Miller were third (16.64 pounds, with their biggest bass weighing 4.89 pounds).
Have a great week!
