SALLISAW â€” Two Poteau Pirate golfers were top-10 medalists in Monday's Sallisaw Invitational.
Cody Shore was runner-up medalist with a 75-70â€”145, while Connor Wheat was seventh at 78-75â€”153.
As a team, the Pirates were third in their first 36-hole tournament of the season, finishing with a 318-306â€”624. Host Sallisaw won its own tournament, while Fort Gibson was runner-up.
As for the rest of the Pirates, Jarrett Lowrimore shot an 83-79â€”162, followed by John Scott Sanders at 82-82â€”164 and Connor Bandy at 93-102â€”195.
The Pirates will be off until playing their regular-season finale, the Pryor Invitational that, also will be a 36-hole event. The tournament will begin at 8 this morning at Pryor Creek Golf Course.
