Velma May Hunt

Velma May Hunt, 74, of Bokoshe died Thursday, May 23, 2013, in Fort Smith, Ark. Velma was born Feb. 26, 1939, in Oroville, Calif., to Elick and Ethel Shields. She was a homemaker. Velma was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 40 years, Ron Hunt, on Sept. 7, 2012; daughter, Faye Daffron; son, Robert Hill; brothers, Art, Oscar, James, Wayne and Butch Shields; and sisters, Lily Joseph and Ursa Freda Shields. 
She is survived by her three daughters; Heather Mulligan of Panama, Julie Hobson of Vacaville, Calif., Martha Shelton of Garden Valley, Calif.; son, Richard Hunt of Nice, Calif.; one sister, Leslie Majah of Seattle, Wash.; one brother, Wesley Shields of Reno, Nev.; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and loved ones.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 3, at Evans Chapel of Memories in Poteau with the Rev. Jim Cook officiating.
