Velta Ruth Pipkins, 78, of Pocola died Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012, in Fort Smith, Ark. Velta was born Sept. 30, 1934, in Mulberry, Ark., to Clyde and Letha (Jordan) Drummond. She was a furniture refurbisher for many years and then worked for Welker Machine Shop. Velta was preceded in death by her father; daughter, Linda Partlow Wilkins; and great-grandson, Noah Holsted.
Survivors include her husband, Tom of the home; two daughters and son-in-law, Joyce Atwell, Marsha and Wilson Tucker of Pocola,; son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Judy Pipkins of Stigler, nine grandchildren, Darrell Jr. and Rachel Wilkins, Andrew Atwell, Amber and Toby Holstead, Aaron Atwell, Ashley Tucker, Brandie and Daniel Sosa, Brad and Kayla Pipkins, Bailey Pipkins, Brooke Pipkins; two great-grandchildren, Chloe Wilkins, Blake Holsted; mother, Letha Drummond of Pocola; brother and sister-in-law, Wayne and Anna Drummond of Florida; three nieces, Teresa Drummond and her daughter, Annie of Kernersville, N.C., Tania Drummond of Raleigh, N.C., Tiffany and Michael Armstrong and her son, Fisher of Garner, N.C.; other relatives and loved ones.Â
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12, at Evans Memorial Chapel, Pocola, with the Rev. James Ogden officiating. Burial will be in Macedonia Cemetery, Pocola. Pallbearers will be Gerald, Aaron, Dave, and Brad Pipkins, Darrell Wilkins, Andrew and Aaron Atwell and Toby Holsted
Family visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Funeral Home in Pocola.
