Time running out to claim stimulus payments |
|
Friday, 21 November 2008 |
For some 2,400 Arkansans and 3,600 Oklahomans who had their Stimulus Payment checks returned to the IRS by the U.S. Postal Service as "undeliverable," only 10 days remain to notify the IRS of a new or correct address.
The IRS is bound by law to not issue any Economic Stimulus Payments after Dec. 31. In order for those who've had a Stimulus Payment check already mailed to them but didn't receive it because the Postal Service could not deliver it, Nov. 28 is the deadline to contact the IRS with a current address. If the IRS does not receive a correct address in time to process a new check, the Economic Stimulus Payment is lost. Call 1-866-234-2942 to inform the IRS of your correct address. |
