Poteau Chamber of Commerce along with Kiamichi Technology Center, OSU Extension Center, Oklahoma Small Business Development Center, and Poteau Main Street, sponsored "Girls Just Want to Have Funds" Business Women's Seminar at the board room at the Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday. Barbara Rackley of the Oklahoma Rural Enterprise International Women's Business Center met with area businesswomen to discuss topics ranging from IRS to fashion. "Everyone wants more, but we can learn to stretch and use what is available to get better results," said Rackley. Also speaking on the subject of finances was Lavon Williams of AIG Financial Services in Poteau. Beth Peck, CPA, of Poteau provided tax preparation advise. REI has been meeting the needs of Oklahoma businesses and communities for over 25 years through a variety of economic development services. REI had its beginning in the small business lending arena. Today it has evolved into a multi-faceted economic development organization that has become the model of study for effective economic development services. Poteau businesswomen who attended the informative meeting were: Lorie Rutledge, Vickie Meyer, , Melissa Christman, Melissa Davis, Kim Albert, Debbie Hampton, Brenda Darling, Jeannine Jonas, Samantha Palmer, Becky Brinkley, Karla Ochoa, Amy Lomon, Teresa Farrington, Cheryl Wilson, Pat Pickle and Carey Gregory.
