Eleven-year-old Darby Duncan of Cameron shows the winnings she has accumulated during her first year competing in barrel racing. She is the daughter of Ronny and Gayle Duncan and began her riding career in February 2008. She was the Poteau Double D Arena 1-D Champion, winning her a belt buckle, a breast collar and a saddle pad. As Heartland Junior 1-D Champion she won another belt buckle and several other prizes. As Heartland 3-D Champion she won a third belt buckle, a blanket and several other prizes. She was also the A-OK Youth Champion for which she won a saddle. Being among the A-OK 1-D Open Top 5 she won a breast collar and bucket full of prizes. During the 2008 season she won more than $3,500. She accomplished this on her 20-year-old gelding Sigma De Cara, nicknamed Mooney, and on her 23-year-old mare named Spider.
